OzFlarm: Glider collision avoidance and situational awareness system. Based on the Swiss Flarm device manufactured by Flarm Technologies in Switzerland (see http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/FLARM ), RFD has a licence to manufacture the core technolgy into it's own Australian designed system. To date over 450 units sold in Australia and New Zealand, mostly in gliders but now a growing number of Ultralights and Sports/General Aviation aircraft. The system is a small, lightweight low power device designed to alert pilots of the pressence of other flarm equipped aircraft. In 2005 a trial at the NSW State Comps at Lake Keepit saw 60 units fitted as well as 2 tow planes, it was hugely successful and resulted in flarm devices being mandated for use in most competitions being held. Other devices such as MiniOz and Flarm-NAV compliment the lineup.

Advanced Glide Computer and Variometer: Simply the best state of the art system available for gliding today. Utilising latest technology the Altair glide computer provides the cross country soaring  or compettion pilot instantaneous information to aid in fast,safe flying. The sunlight readable colour screen offers moving map, airspace, task optimisation and a host of other features all with one touch key inputs or optional stick control. Coupled to the Vega audio/voice variometer and you have the best system available today. The units are manufactured in Switzerland and software is supported worldwide by hundreds of programmers.Here in Australia we have local programmers constantly improving the system to suit our pilot needs which offers flexability not found in other locally produced units.Download our manuals and view our product page for more information. ADS-B: Automated Dependence Surveilance, ADS-B is now widely used throughout the world (see http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/ADS-B for an explanation of how ADS-B works ). Here in Australia RF Developments has been at the forefront of ADS-B development having been involved in both ADS-B transmitt and ADS-B receive on the 1090Mhz band (transponder frequency). Our latest development is a small, lightweight ADS-B receiver for use in Gliders,Ultralights and G.A aircraft and when coupled to a suitable display such as Flarm_NAV or other multifunction displays it provides traffic information of other ADS-B equipped aircraft allowing traffic conflicts to be identified in advance. Aditionally and developed by RFD an add on flarm transceiver module then allows the reception of other flarm equipped aircraft such as gliders and Ultralights (400 plus in Oz alone) and transversly they can see you, the transmitter uses a higher power level to achieve 5nm range.  - watch this space for developments.

Flarm for Open cut mining operations: Flarm Technology in Switzerland have developed a range of 2D flarm systems for mining operations. Currently units are being sold into South Africa and already are showing a cost benefit in reducing the likelyhood of accidents with large dump trucks and heavy machinery.
